Woodside Animal Centre is the Leicestershire Branch of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). We take in and care for stray and unwanted pets, aid the recovery and return of injured wildlife to their habitat and care for animal victims of cruelty.
Each year approximately 3500 animals arrive at the centre all needing our help. Our aim is to rehabilitate and retrain these animals and find them new loving permanent homes. In 2010 we successfully rehomed over 3,000 animals and are one of the RSPCA’s top re-homing centres.
Woodside Animal Centre is completely self-funding. We receive no aid from the Government, the National Lottery or RSPCA headquarters.
To maintain the animal centre, we currently need around £14,000 per week, which we can only raise in the Leicestershire area. In order to meet these running costs we organise as many fundraising events as possible and have several charity shops throughout Leicestershire. Donations are vitally important for the existence of the animal centre. There are many ways you can donate from making monetary donations online, sponsoring our animal accommodation, running your own fundraising event to leaving a gift in your Will, to name but a few.
