Woodside Animal Centre is the Leicestershire branch of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). We take in and care for stray and unwanted pets, aid the recovery and return of injured wildlife to their habitat and care for animal victims of cruelty.
Each year approximately 3500 animals are cared for and in 2006 we were named as one of the RSPCA’s top re-homing centres.
Woodside Animal Centre is completely self-funding. We receive no aid from the state, the National Lottery or RSPCA headquarters.
To maintain the centre, we currently need around £11,000 per week, so we organise many fundraising events and have several charity shops throughout Leicestershire.
