Leaving a gift in your Will

As a self-funded animal centre that costs over £20,000 per week to run, we rely on your kind donations when gifting to us in your will.

If you’re thinking of leaving a gift in your will to Woodside Animal Centre but still have questions or want to know more about leaving a legacy, then you’ve come to the right place. All information on this page should help answer some of your questions, if not then contact us to receive your legacy information booklet. As a self-funded centre that costs over £20,000 per week to run, we rely on gifts being left in wills to continue rescuing, rehabilitating & rehoming animals in need. Gifts in wills fund over half of the costs of running Woodside, so without your kind donation we simply wouldn’t be here.

If you do decide to leave a legacy to Woodside in your Will, you should include the following wording, to ensure it comes to the RSPCA Leicestershire Branch, Woodside Animal Centre, specifically:

“I give the sum of £ (or specify percentage of estate) to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Leicestershire Branch (Woodside Animal Centre), registered charity no. 222621, and I declare that the receipt of the honorary treasurer or other proper officer of the said Branch shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy.”

When you’ve had time to reflect and discuss your decision with those close to you, we would appreciate if you could let us know your intentions. This will help us plan for the future and ensure we can give our teams on the ground the maximum resources to protect animals in need. If you would like to discuss leaving a legacy or have any questions, please contact income.manager@rspcaleicester.org.uk or call 0116 232 4931.

Alternatively, if you’ve yet to make a Will, you can contact Bluelight Wills who we’ve teamed up with to ensure your donation has the maximum impact on our centre. Bluelight Wills

Every act of giving, no matter how small, makes a huge difference to the animals in our care. On behalf of Woodside Animal Centre, thank you for thinking of us in your will and for allowing us to continue protecting & caring for animals of Leicestershire & Rutland.
