A little about me

Beanz came from a home with over 30 dogs who were exercised in groups from a kennel type situation. Bred by the owner. He has never been inside a home that we are aware of and has never been away from where he lived other than Woodside. On arrival, it was clear that Beanz had not been lead or collar trained/ or socialised with the necessary things in order to cope with the outside world. He had little handling. Beanz is anxious in general and sound sensitive. He is incredibly worried and will bolt if spooked as he has no experience of entering new environments. The ideal home for this lovely boy would be with experienced owners in an adult only setting (no visiting children either) He will need a large secure garden (under and over) to ensure he doesn't escape. He will need an owner who understands that he will always be nervous but has the capacity to learn how to feel better in the right home. At present, he is not suitable for walks and will possibly never be able to cope with crowds or busy areas- however we feel that keeping him in the home and garden to allow him to feel safe and become more confident would be the best option. This will give the owner time to introduce lead walking in the garden but with the expectation that Beanz may never want to venture away from the home. Beanz is a lovely dog who will need full integration into the home environment including house training with positive training methods. A good knowledge of dog behaviour or good experiences with nervous/ anxious dogs would be beneficial. New owners will need to be home most of the time to allow plenty of time for training and positive experiences.
