Woodside Animal Centre is the Leicestershire Branch of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). We take in and care for stray and unwanted pets, aid the recovery and return of injured wildlife to their habitat and care for animal victims of cruelty.
Every day we receive a call to our helpline every 10 seconds.
Thousands of animals arrive at the centre every year.
Our highly trained staff and volunteers work tirelessly with all of our animals to prepare them for re-homing as well as finding them them new loving permanent homes. In the last two years we successfully re-homed over 4,500 animals and are one of the RSPCA’s top re-homing centres.
The animal centre currently costs over £18,000 per week to run. We can only raise funds to support the work we do in the Leicestershire area.
In order to meet these running costs we encourage as many people as possible to fundraise on behalf of our charity. We also organise our own fundraising events every year.
We have several charity shops throughout Leicestershire where we sell donated goods all profits from the shops go directly to the animal centre.
Donations are vitally important for the existence of the animal centre. There are many ways you can donate from making monetary donations on-line to sponsoring one of our animal accommodation areas (safe haven).
